    @MrMeanny
    I have Total Recorder, which is quite cheap, if not free. Any sound can be recorded on your PC., then saved and applied to your mp3 player. Just a suggestion, and it really works extremely well.

    HAHA . . . I don’t know why so many people gave this a thumbs-down; silliness & the sacred are eminently compatible :)

    Because even thoughts rise out of “nothingness”

  14. Xinoutorah says:

    Yea, in college you can if they have a meditation class :-p I took one, but it was mostly on studying Asian meditation texts and not doing mediation, but we did a little bit of this sort of stuff and it’s quite fascinating. It really should be a requirement.

  15. Xinoutorah says:

    No, it’s the way his shirt wrinkles

    Jon Kabat Zin started me on a fantastic journey that has changed my life. All this after losing my father in a tragic hotel fire. This video is a blessing in that I got to see Jon and hear him speak. Thank you for this opportunity!

    People would probably get more out of this 1hr 12 for nothing than paying £60 for the hour of a psychotherapist.

    Don’t get me wrong. Psychotherapists are well meaning people and do help but they should watch this video, too. :)

  23. capricious71 says:

    I ran a half-marathon in the pouring rain today. It occurred to me how important it is to have a quiet mind. The noisy mind is a real enemy of the runner. The very best thing is to have nothing going on up there.

    I think that’s the goal in pretty much everything.

  24. capricious71 says:

    People say “when I was young” as if we ever really get old. Life’s too short. Think about how quickly a year seems to go.

  25. bkrumlauf says:

    @webgriet …Just as an FYI…Kabat-Zinn is a full-on Buddhist teacher. Try 2500 year-old practice rather than new age. What he’s done very skillfully is taken the basic practice and principals of Buddhism and applied them outside of the religious/spiritual context.
